Fort Hawkins has been a place of learning for more than two centuries. Today, the Fort Hawkins Foundation continues that tradition by providing engaging educational experiences that connect visitors of all ages with the history, archaeology, and cultural heritage of Middle Georgia.
Whether you're a classroom teacher planning a field trip, a homeschool family seeking hands-on learning, a Scout leader looking for badge opportunities, or a volunteer interested in sharing local history, our programs are designed to inspire curiosity through interactive experiences. From guided tours and living history demonstrations to archaeology, lectures, internships, and community events, Fort Hawkins offers meaningful opportunities to explore the stories that shaped our region.
We invite you to discover, learn, and become part of preserving Georgia's history for future generations.
Fort Hawkins is seeking educators and historians to assist in the development of curriculum and field trip programming for students across Middle Georgia. This form will help us understand your background, experience, and availability for participation in summer planning meetings.
